• BY M. THOMAS STARKES. • “M. THOMAS ‘TOMMY’ STARKES, 67, a minister of Las Vegas, passed away May 19, 2007. He was born Oct. 8, 1939, in Eastland, Texas, and was a Nevada resident for 23 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wayland College in Plainview, Texas in 1961, and his master’s from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
